Pricing your items
How to set prices that sell — and what to do when they don't.
Pricing your items
Pricing is the #1 reason items sit unsold. If your item hasn't moved in two weeks, the price is almost always the problem.
How to set a starting price
- Check competitors — search for similar items on Kampala Snap and other marketplaces. What range are they in?
- Be honest about condition — used items go for less, no matter how good your photos are.
- Factor in delivery — buyers compare landed cost, not sticker price.
If it's not selling
After 2 weeks with no orders, try:
- Drop the price by 10–15% and re-promote
- Refresh the photos in case the old ones are weak
- Add a flash sale for visibility (see Flash sales)
What not to do
- Don't price way above market expecting to negotiate down. Buyers filter by price — they'll never see your listing.
- Don't change the price every day. Pick a price, give it two weeks, then adjust.
